Did God Just Drop the Mic?

Did God Just Drop the Mic?

One day I was cooking and just meditation on various things. I begin to start thinking about past intimate relationships I had and wanted to re-visit one of them. But previously the Lord told me not to go back because that is not He wanted for my life. I constantly had the thoughts of calling or texting that person but then I heard the Lord clearly while I was cooking and said, “Why is it that you hear me so clearly when I am giving you word for someone else but can’t hear me when I am giving you a word for your life?” All I saw after that was a mic drop on the floor. I did not have any words to say but God you are right. Then I said again, did You just drop the mic?

The term dropping the mic means that someone just said something or called out someone by making a strong statement that makes one speechless. When God said that to me, I had nothing to say or could not make an argument or nothing. So now every time I think about doing something I use to do that God called me out of, I instantly think of God dropping the mic on me. God gives us warning and He tells us through his word, divine revelation, dreams, etc, of right and wrong… for ourselves!

The story of Solomon explains it best about the dangers of ignoring what God has told you to do. In 1 Kings 11:9-10 says, “And the Lord was angry with Solomon because his heart was turned from the Lord, the God of Israel, Who had appeared to him twice, And had commanded him concerning this thing, that he should not go after other gods, but he did not do what the Lord commanded.” There are other examples but the Lord told Solomon twice and it made the Lord angry to see that He was not following what He had told him to do.

How many times have God told you to do something and you have not done it? In result, the kingdom was ripped away from Solomon. Just like the power of God left Saul because of his disobedience. God is calling us to go higher in Him by following His word for our lives. No longer shall God have to tell us over and over again what we need to do. If we are His children, then we should obey Him. In John 10:27 says, “My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me”

Walking in Obedience Is Tough, But Don’t Beat Me Down If I Am Trying.

Walking in Obedience Is Tough, But Don’t Beat Me Down If I Am Trying.

I had a dream that I was directing a choir and the spirit was really high in the church. I looked at the musicians and tried to guide them through the next movement or shift that was about to take place. But they would not follow and decided to go in another way. I stopped what they were doing and told them to go back and follow me. They could not. I said to them The Lord was about to release His power in the atmosphere but you would not follow. I began to teach about the movement of God and how important it is to be in tuned with God. I began to move in congregation and went to the people an empathized with them about the struggles we have and the interference we face as Christians to follow God. I begin to say that a lot of Christian practices stops us from hearing God. Such as the fact that many churches put so much strong emphasis on tithing and that if you don’t tithe then you are not blessed. As I said this I was moving to the back of the church and the people had their head down. I know how it feels when being beaten down because you are not fully obedient. The mistake is that we do not comfort and help the people to learn how to fully walk in obedience. I went on back to the front and before I got to the front I sat next to someone and look directly at them  and said, “Serving God should not feel like a chore or a obligation, but we should take it as a privilege because He did not have to choose us.”

So as believers we should count it as a honor and privilege to serve and worship the Lord because everybody is not chosen to worship the Lord. Yes, we all are his creation but he only has a handful of children. So we may think it is difficult to serve the Lord and to walk in total obedience but we have to remember who are daddy is. The LORD is our shepherd, we lack NOTHING. Do not let the church beat you down because you are not fully walking in obedience but at the same time do not make excuses for not walking in obedience. We are in this together and we must encourage one another along the way.
