Affirmation: I am Forgiven

Challenge:  Write yourself a forgiveness letter

Song of the day: Be Weak

In order for you to forgive yourself,  you have to love yourself. Yes you have made mistakes, but there is hope after the mistake. We thank God that He forgives. The hardest part is forgiving ourselves. I believe the issue is that we are afraid to make mistakes. We do not want anyone to know that we are imperfect. So in result, we beat ourselves up constantly to please others. Some times there are things we do not even like about ourselves. Ask God to give you an illumination who you are. You do not have to carry the guilt any longer. I pray that God will release the pain from the past mistakes and for you to keep your eye on the precious promises of God. Have faith that you are forgiven!

So in your forgiveness letter, repent to God for all the mistakes you have made if you haven’t already. Repent for being so hard on yourself. Write it like you were reaching out to a friend to apologize for what you have done. The letter should not “point fingers” but the letter should reflect compassion , love, and understanding. Once you have the letter completed, you can choose to keep it or throw it away, whatever makes you feel best. Writing this letter is a positive step in healing your past. The letter may not erase all your hurt but overtime, with awareness of this hurt and continued work on releasing negative emotions, the pain will become less and less.

Affirmation: I am Grateful

Challenge:  Take yourself out to eat by yourself to your favorite restaurant.

Song of the day: Grateful – JJ Hairston & Youthful Praise

For the past few months, it has been so hard to get out the bed in the morning. Sometimes I catch myself saying, “Oh no! Another day of living.” I catch myself and realize how bad that sounds. Are we grateful for where we are in life right now? Even if you are in a bad place, giving God glory for it is in order. How can I rejoice when I am in a bad place? Philippians 4:4 commands us to rejoice. And rejoice some more!

I want to encourage to be grateful about living. You woke up today! That means God as so much more in store for you! Start the day praying to God to see what it is He wants for you to conquer today. Wake up with this Psalm on your lips:

Psalm 63:1-4: O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is; To see thy power and thy glory, so as I have seen thee in the sanctuary. Because thy lovingkindness is better than life, my lips shall praise thee. Thus will I bless thee while I live: I will lift up my hands in thy name.

We are coming against the spirit of depression and we will walk in the goodness and the grace of God. We will continue to press. In Romans 5:3-5 says that, Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us. Each round of our victory goes higher and higher. Endurance to character building, and to hope. There is so much hope in Jesus and I am grateful for it!

Affirmation: I am Victorious

Challenge:  List all your small victories and success already this year

Song of the day: Victory- Tye Tribbett

As I was sitting in my office today I began to reflect on January. I was not as productive as I wanted to be when it came to my business. I really was upset with myself for not pushing the way I know I could have. But I did think about all about the little victories that happened instead. I was able to cook more vegan meals. I found time to participate in a study group to help me discern the voice of God better. I have been reading at night after I get home from a long day of working 2 jobs. So far so good. Even though I did not reach my financial goal this month, I created an accountability system for the month of February and figured out how I can use my time more efficiently.

So, if you did not start or end January with a bang, it is ok! February is here and you had the opportunity to make things right. Think about all the small victories you had in the month of January. Not staying up late and getting a decent amount of sleep. Waking up a little earlier to pray or you actually got to work on time. Those are little milestones to celebrate. Celebrate progress in your life. It is ok to reward yourself too! In Philippians 3 says that we are to progressively keep getting better. We are not perfect but as long as we keep moving, it is a reason to celebrate. Do not beat yourself up if you did not reach a goal or do right. For the Lord will grant us peace. In John 14:27 says that, “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.”

Choose faith over anxiety and walk in your freedom. Celebrate your small victories! I am celebrating with you!

Affirmation: I Will Let It Go

Challenge:  What are some things you need to let go for the year of 2018? Write them down.

Song of the day: Eulogy- Tye Tribbett

It took me a long time to let go of toxic relationships. You would think it would be hard to get rid of something that is not good for you. But we love to hold on to things that are not good for us. It was known, comfortable, and familiar to me so why should I let it go? No matter how much it was hindering me, I wanted to keep it. That is like many of us. We hold on to a lot things that are hindering us. Besides relationships, we hold on to what we thought we were supposed to be. We hold onto old goals. We hold onto old clothes. Old love letters. Old pain. You name it! For many of us it is our safety net. It is what we can point fingers at to blame where we are now. It is time to let that all go!

Ephesians 4: 31 says that, “Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice.” Isaiah 43:18 says that, “Remember not the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. God has so much instore for us if we just let go of what we’ve been holding on to. We need to give it all to Jesus. Peter 5:7 says that we should cast all of our anxieties upon God for He cares for us. I will no longer hold pity parties for myself but I will be strong and courageous.

So go ahead. Write down the things you are going to let go in 2018. Those things have to die. It maybe hard letting go relationships and friends, but you’ll feel a burden lifted off of you. Dry your eyes and tell your past that it has to die. Just let it go and walk in victory.

Affirmation: I Am Whole

Challenge:  Go to the movies or an event by yourself

Song of the day: I am Who God Says I am

I have been learning about being whole and complete in God. The society causes us to think that we are only half. Think about it! When one says that they found their better half. Does that mean you are only half and only good? You should be the “whole-best”, not half good. God wants us to be whole and complete with Him. Not with man. You are original, distinct, and special.

Wholeness is a mindset. It is a way of living. It is to be complete and one with yourself. It is getting all your cues from God. Wholeness affects your relationship with others socially spiritually and emotionally. Your relationships are only as good as your wholeness. Wholeness is being secured in who you are. You have been broken, but God mended you. You did not allow the breaking to define you.

You should know how you view yourself not allow others to paint who you are. When you have a sense of self- concept of who you are, then what others think about you will not bother you. We are masterpieces that have been intricately woven and put together. Everything we need to pursue purpose is inside of us from God. You are whole and complete in God. You must get to a point to say I AM WHO GOD SAYS I AM. Because you are whole, you have no problem to be with yourself. You do not have to always be around people. You should be satisfied with you.

2 Peter 1:2 – 7 “Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord; seeing that His divine power has granted to us everything pertaining to life and godliness, through the true knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and excellence. For by these He has granted to us His precious and magnificent promises, in order that by them you might become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world by lust. Now for this very reason also, applying all diligence, in your faith supply moral excellence, and in your moral excellence, knowledge; and in your knowledge, self-control, and in your self-control, perseverance, and in your perseverance, godliness; and in your godliness, brotherly kindness, and in your brotherly kindness, love.” (NASV)

Affirmation: I Will Leave a Legacy

Challenge:  Become a mentor for a child

Song of the day: There is a king in you

How is it so important to leave a legacy? Not just for your children but for generations to come? I am reminded of the great Myles Munroe and the legacy he left in 2014. Myles Munroe lived his purpose and made sure that everyone knew it. He knew his mandate and never veered from it. How many of us can say that we are living our purpose? How many of us can say what we are doing now will affect generations to come?

Recently I heard the Lord say, make yourself valuable. It took me a while to understand what He meant. Make myself in high demand. Become knowledgeable by reading and studying and having something that is in demand. What do I have that others can benefit from? Eventually I will get to a point that I have to release everything I have to people to carry on. There is a vision down inside of us that needs to be release for generations to come.

A key of legacy is to see how cloneable you are. What are you doing to make yourself cloneable? The goal of leadership is serving others and mentoring. It is helping others to become leaders, not maintain followers. Jesus did not just train the disciples to stay with Him. Jesus said that it is better for Him to go away so that you will do greater works.

God is preparing you to mentor and build up others. You are cloneable and you will leave a legacy. If we are of Christ, we have the same ability to transfer the works of the Kingdom to someone else. We must mentor to preserve a legacy.

Affirmation: I Am Enough

Challenge:  Say “I Love You” in the mirror

Song of the day: So Happy Being Me

I think it is a habit always compare ourselves to others. I realized the other day that we are never satisfied with what we have and who we are. Even if we are approving in life, we constantly compare our success to someone else’s. Since when do we use other human achievements as our standard of living. As I get older I understand that everyone runs a different race in life. We are all on different paths. There is no way that we can compare or contrast our success against others.

But we cannot help comparing ourselves to others especially if we see them prospering while we are struggling. We try to find out their method and try to make it our blueprint. But it never works.  There is only one you and you are precious in the sight of God. Sometimes you feel that you are not enough and you may have heard it from others. The way we picture ourselves is the way we treat ourselves. But listen to the voice of God and He is saying that YOU ARE ENOUGH. The most important person you can ever love is yourself.

Ephesians 2:10 says that, “For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” Your life and path was created before the beginning of time. Do not get discouraged in weak moments for God’s grace and strength is sufficient for you.

Affirmation: I Will Reclaim My Time

Challenge:  Take a nap and do not feel bad about it.

Song of the day: It’s Right and Good

So then, take heed that you walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as those who are wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil. For this reason, do not be foolish, but understanding what the will of the Lord is” Ephesians 5:15-17.

Have you regret in life what you have done in life? Going to college and majoring in the wrong field. Being stuck at a dead-end job but cannot afford to leave at the moment. What if you were in a relationship that you invested so much time in and in result you were being used and manipulated the whole time? Some of us feel like we’ve been going around the same mountain for the last 40 years. We can redeem the time but not repaying evil for evil but rather doing good (Romans 12:20 – 21).

We all have regrets because of the bad choices we made. We feel that we cannot get that time back. We feel that we’ve should have been further along in life and accomplished more. But because of hiccups along the way, we are depressed. Joel 2: 25 says that, “I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten, the hopper, the destroyer, and the cutter, my great army, which I sent among you”. There were people or things that had come around in your life to eat up your time and resources.  But do not stay in your sadness but rejoice that you are about to walk in a season of restored harvest, time, relationships, and self-love.

Since now you are in a place or on your way to a place of maturity, it is important to ask this question: what are you doing with your time? It is time to reclaim your time and understand what God’s Will is for your life. Don’t waste your life doing things that will destroy your time. Make meaningful and intentional relationships with people. God sees what is going on your life and just for the children of Israel, God said, their fields would yield an abundance that would make up for what had been lost: “The threshing floor shall be full of grain; the vats shall overflow with wine and oil. . .  You shall eat in plenty and be satisfied” (Joel 2:24-26)”. A mental change must occur. You cannot any longer blame people for you not advancing. Importantly, you cannot blame yourself. From this point forward, you must press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus (Phil 3:14). The bible warns us not to be idle, but keep moving and progressing in God. By being zealous to redeem our time on earth, meaning we dedicate our lives to doing as much good as possible, we not only bless others but lay up for ourselves eternal treasures (Matthew 6:19 – 21).

Affirmation: I Can Do All Things

Challenge:  Cook Yourself A Meal

Song of the day: Holding On

Have we set limitations on our lives? For many of us, we do not see the resources in front of us to accomplish a task, we instantly become fearful and ready to back up from it. I am learning more and more to take my hands and plans from things that God wants to do more in. It is a test of trust in the Almighty Father. What does it mean in Philippians 4:13 when it saysI can do all things through him who strengthens me.” Does that mean we can do whatever we set our minds to? This is a scripture of endurance when times get rough. No matter what comes my way, I will not give up nor give in.

When difficult or challenging times arise in your life, God will give us the strength to endure. It is not by our own power and might that we are standing here today. Just look back at your life! Many have gone through things that could have taken their lives and sanity. But because we stood on the scripture “I can do all things”, our endurance was kicked into gear and we held on.

I want to encourage you to never give up. When things get really bad, we have to remember that we can do all things and endure. God gives us the strength to endure. While you are going through and, IN the situation, God will give us the spirit of contentment. We are content in the good and content in the bad because we know that our present situation will not last long.

Affirmation: I Refuse to Give Up

Challenge:  Take a mini day trip out of town

Song of the day: Hold On Be Strong by Kurt Carr

Lately I’ve been ready to throw in the towel on EVERYTHING. If it isn’t one thing, it is another. I got to a point where I could not take it anymore. But then I realized how close I am to where I need to be. We all have been there when it feels like the world is closing in and things are not going as planned. But I want to encourage you to not give up. You would be surprised how close you are to move into the next. I want to encourage you with some scriptures that will encourage you to hold on in various situations:

Don’t give up when that familiar sin, still crouching at your door after all these years, pounces again with temptation.

No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it. (1 Corinthians 10:13)

Don’t give up when you feel that deep soul weariness from long battles with persistent weaknesses.

“My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. (2 Corinthians 12:9)

Don’t give up when your long asked-and-sought-and-knocked-for prayers have not yet been answered.

And he told them [the parable of the persistent widow] to the effect that they ought always to pray and not lose heart. (Luke 18:1)

Don’t give up when the devil’s fiery darts of doubt find flesh and make you reel.

Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day. . . In all circumstances take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one. (Ephesians 6:13, 16)

In all you do, never give up. Pray for the spirit of discernment. Sometimes God will tell you to give it up if it is not for you. Other times He is waiting to see what you will do. I am determined not to make a move without the direction of God. But when He is telling you not to give up, listen! For greater is in store for you.

Affirmation: I Am In Christ

Challenge:  Listen to Your Favorite Album

Song of the day: Grace to Overcome by William Murphy

This is a statement we hear all the time. We say it all the time. But do we really believe that we are in Christ? Christ life amazes me so much because He was focus on his purpose. Jesus has a limited time to carry out His purpose and He did not allow anyone or anything to stop Him. When trials and tribulations came His way, we are shown the importance of prayer and being in God. In Luke 5:16 says that, “But Jesus often withdrew to lonely places and prayed.” It is ok to be in a lonely and solitude place in life. Many people do not like to be alone and cannot handle the time of loneliness.

I am learning about myself is that I must be secure in myself and to be ok when I am by myself. I enjoy being with myself. Jesus went away to go pray and rejuvenate Himself in God. When was the last time you slipped away and allowed God to recharge you? When you are in Christ, you have the benefit to enjoy the peace and love that He brings. When Christ is in you, you are able to carry the benefits inside of you. So because Christ is in you, you should treat yourself well. How would you treat Christ? We do not treat ourselves well when it comes to mental, physical, or spiritual health. We need to do better when taking care of ourselves if we expect Christ to reside inside of us. Because we are in Christ and Christ is in me, we are never lonely. We have to become more aware of His presence.

Affirmation: No Mistake can Separate You from God’s love

Challenge:  Call that friend that held you accountable

Song of the day: Love The Hurt Away

I used to be hard on myself when I made mistakes. Sometimes, even now, I would catch myself being hard on myself. In times of mistakes, I would back up from God and not pray. I could even step in His presence knowing that I have done something to make Him disappointed. We constantly beat up on ourselves and hide from God just like Adam and Eve did. Your weakness has been exposed and you do not want anyone to know.

Exposure in my life was probably the best thing that ever happened to me. I have learned that exposure will not run God away but exposure ran me closer to God. When exposed our caught in sin, do not run away from God but run right into His presence. Psalm 86: 15 says that, “But You, O Lord, are a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abundant in lovingkindness and truth.” Thank God for his mercies that are new everyday (Lamentations 3:22).

The catch to this scripture is that we must decide when the morning is. When you are in hiding, it is dark and you do not have a sense of timing. You go day by day in the natural but in the spiritual you are confused and hungry for something. Your soul begins to cry out for a presence that you have rejected. God has not rejected you. When the Holy Spirit show you what you really need, you step out of darkness and into the light.

Do not run from God. In His arms, there is safety and love. I would rather expose myself in front of my savior rather than exposing myself in front of those who seeks to destroy me. But we all stumble (James 3:2) and one should encourage others to move closer to God. Surround yourself with people that will hold you accountable and encourage you to seek the Lord. Those are the ones you can trust.

Run to God. Remember that God has you and will not let you stay where you are if you let Him. In Psalm 37: 23-24 says that, “The steps of a man are established by the Lord, and He delights in his way. When he falls, he will not be hurled headlong, because the Lord is the One who holds his hand”.

Affirmation: I Have Purpose

Challenge:  Smile at everyone you meet today

Song of the day: Manifest By T.D. Jakes

If you woke up this morning, then you have purpose. One thing that I am learning about purpose is that you cannot compare what God has for your life with others. I believe that is the epidemic that we, as a people of God, are dealing with. Because we see them on a pedestal made by man, we think that is the way. But we have to remember that we are one body that is fitly joined together. Each part of the body is important.

Do not let anyone tell you that what you do and who you are do not matter. The only voice we should be listening to is the voice of the Lord. If God can use the dead to carry out His will, surely, He can use you. God formed you and knew you way before and purpose was planted inside of you.  There are many people trying to find their purpose. Your purpose is ever evolving. You may be called to do something in finance then the Lord will shift you to do something in music. In everything we do, we must give God the glory. That is our main purpose.

Pray to God for Him to show you your purpose. Connected with spiritual-minded people that can help you find what is inside of you and to help you cultivate it. YOU HAVE PURPOSE!

Affirmation: I Will Love Someone Else, Even if they did not love me.

Challenge:  Call an old friend that you need closure with. Maybe even grab a bite to eat (use discernment)

Song of the day: How We Love Tonya Baker

Today signifies the day of love. Valentine’s Day. Whether you show love for your significant other or a family member. Love is being spread all around. But what about the unlovable? Can you love the unlovable? For many, this Valentine’s Day may strike up old memories of past relationships that were not good. It could be a fight with a relative. An argument with a friend the ended badly. Never having a loving relationship with parents.  This day may signify pain and sorrow. But I want this day to represent reconciliation for you. 2 Corinthians 5:18 says that, “Now all these things are from God, who reconciled us to Himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation,“. Healing and mending of relationships is available for us to accomplish this moment.

When you reconcile your differences, pressure and awkwardness will be released. Reconciliation brings peace, harmony, and friendship. Reconciliation is required before offering anything to God. God frowns upon giving the God you have not seen love and not giving love to brothers and sisters you see every day. To love the unlovable is a proof that you belong to God.  People witnessed you going through the hurt and pain and loving them in spite of is unheardof in the world. But John 13:35 says that, “By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.

It may be easier said than done. That is why we need pray for the grace and love of the father for us to love. If we are in Christ then we have the ability to love. So I pray for divine healing and mending over your lives. I pray from freedom that you will not be entangled on pain and fear anymore. I pray that the enemy will not bring up past hurt and pain that will prevent you from walking in freedom and deliverance. You can love again.

Affirmation: I Will Be Patient and Persistent

Challenge:  Make a list of All of Your Accomplishments

Song of the day: Thank You Lord By Mary Mary

One thing that I always joke about is that I would tell people to NEVER pray for patience. Because according to scripture, patience works tribulation (Romans 5:3). So everyday say that you are patient over and over again. We have enough tribulation in our lives already.

But on a real note, some of us become impatient because we want things quick, fast, and in a hurry rather than waiting on the timing of God. As I grow in God, I am learning that the timing of God is so perfect. He knows what is best for us. We do not have to rush the timing of God. Scripture says that if we keep asking for something over and over again and it is not in His will to give it, God will give it to you to show you that you do not need it.

Some of us have prayed for spouses, new careers, homes, etc, but the one thing we sometimes forget to pray is the Will of God. The Will of God is the best plan we can ever go with. I do not want you to be discouraged when you have prayed for these things. There is a reason why you have a want for these things. Scripture says that God will give desires of your heart. These are desires that God has given you to desire. But the timing of God is sometimes unknown. So in the time of waiting, we must be content of where we are but make the best of it. Continue to pray and be persistent. There are current things of the Will of God that we have not even accomplished yet. Let’s live in the now moment and get the work we need to get done today.  Matthew 6:34 says that, “So do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will care for itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own”. All of a sudden you will look up and the house is here. The new car is here. The promotion is here. And it came at the right. Be patient and wait on God.

Affirmation: I Will Say No!

Challenge:  Pray to God about the Will for your Life

Song of the day: God Is by Donald Lawrence

I used to have a problem of not saying no to people. I believe many of us  struggle with saying no to others for various reason. We do not want to hurt the other person. We want their approval. We want to have a relationship.  Even if it compromised our beliefs, we do it anyway to make someone else happy. But what about our own happiness? Why must we push our wants and desires for others? What about God’s Will for our lives? What about God’s NO! We catch ourselves doing  things we would never do. We used to say, “I’ll never do that”. Then turn around and do it.

I used to live in a state of regret. I used to do things that I did not want to do but did it because I wanted to make people happy. I did not want to be known as the odd person that never go out and do what they do. I wanted to be a part of the group. I want to have a relationship. I cared about what they thought about me.  And at that time, it was at any cost. How depressed I was! It opened doors to other bad habits. It was MY CHOICE! I could not blame anyone but myself.

Today is the today that we will never give in to others anymore. We will stand up and speak up if we do not want to do something. Especially if it goes against the Will of God. I heard the Lord say audibly to me one day, “Who is more important, them or Me?” When God said that, it was like a light bulb came on and I realized that I was putting others before God. So I ask the question, who is more important to you? People or God. We not put any other before God (Exodus 20:3). Put God first. I want to do what makes God pleased. At the end of the day, I have to answer to God, not man.

Affirmation: I Will Encourage Others

Challenge:  Invest in a small business by giving support

Song of the day: This Life By Isaiah Templeton

Recently the Lord has me studying about intercession. I have been looking at it in a different view. Intercession is not just about praying for someone, but it is about believe God that something will happen for someone. And in that, they rejoice with the person! How great is it to have someone praying for you and then celebrating with you when God does it.  In 1 Thessalonians 5:11 says that, “Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing.”

You cannot be a hater or jealous and be an intercessor at the same time. Intercessor are encouragers. We all should be encouragers of others. There is no room for jealousy in the kingdom of God. We should not covet each other’s blessings. Hebrews 10:24-25 days that, “And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.” If God can do it for one, there is a chance that He can do it for you.

Affirmation: I Will Live Life Intentionally

Challenge:  Go shopping and out to eat with Friends

Song of the day: Intentional By Travis Greene

I told myself last year that I want to have intentional relationships with people. I am a very quiet, standoffish person and recently realizing how hard I make it for myself to build relationships. I am very cautious at times and do not trust easily. But I wanted to change that and establish a circle of friends that I can do life with. How many of us have friends that you can have a real relationship with? How many of us want to break out of their comfort zone a get the best out of life?

This is a huge step for me but I know it needs to be done. The key to Intentional Living is found in Ephesians 5:10, “Figure out what will please Christ, and then do it.” (The Message) It’s a roadmap for life. When put into practice each day, living intentionally changes your life. What pleases Christ? When we love one another. When we live a balanced live. When we seek the Lord. When we do not forsake the time together with others. When we live in faith and trust in God.

God brings people in our lives to have an intentional relationship with. People come to help you to your next level or help you carry out your purpose. Pray to God to help you find those people and trust that the motives of others are of God. Trust Again!

Affirmation: I Will Be a Steward Over My Life

Challenge:  Open up a savings account and set up a direct deposit of $50 or more a month

Song of the day: Blessings of Abraham

I am on the road of purchasing my first house. It was something that I did not planned to do at all. It was under the Lord’s direction. I prayed to the Lord and said I cannot afford a house. God said to me, “You have money, you just do not know how to manage it.” That was really a slap in the face! I am not a heavy spender by no means! But because I allowed myself to believe I do not have enough, I never have enough. God had me to look at my finances I He showed me where I slip in my finances. I realized that I must be a steward over all God has given me… Not just my finances!

I must be a steward over my time. I must be a steward over my gifts I must be a steward over rest (oh my!). There are so many areas in our lives that we must be more responsible of. God have given us dominion here on earth and He gave us things to take care of. In the New Testament, two Greek words embody the meaning of our English word “stewardship.” The first word is epitropos which means “manager, foreman, or steward.” From the standpoint of government, it means “governor or procurator.” At times, it was used in the New Testament to mean “guardian. We must be a manager over what God has given us. Luke 16:10 says that, “”If you are faithful in little things, you will be faithful in large ones. But if you are dishonest in little things, you won’t be honest with greater responsibilities.” If we want more, we got to take care of what we have. House, apartment, cars, relationships, etc. It is what God has given us and we must be faithful to it. If you are believing God for a spouse, take care of yourself!  If you are believing God for a house, take care of your room or apartment. If you are believing God for anything, take care of what you have and be a steward over it!

Affirmation: I Will Take Care of My Temple

Challenge:  Cook a vegan or vegetarian meal

Song of the day: I Worship You With All of Me- Mary Alessi

The beginning of the year always marks the time to create new healthier habits such as eating right and working out. I vowed at the end of 2017 that I wanted to change the way I eat. I knew this was the will of the Lord for my life because suddenly, my tasting for food started to change. It made sense. I did not have to watch food videos or do research on eating. When the Lord starts to shift you, you got to follow it.

I realize in ministry you must be healthy and whole. Mentally, spiritually, and physically. We often forsake the physical. But if your physical is not intact, then where does the spiritual and mental being housed? 1 Corinthians 6:20 says to glorify God in your body. That means to give God the very best or the essences of yourself. When God calls for you to do something, you do not want to God with the excuse that I am out of shape to do it.

I want to present my body a living sacrifice unto the Lord. Holy and acceptable. It is all about what you put in your body, what you expose yourself to, and how you take care of yourself. Hygiene, weight, physical sins, whatever it is, you want to take care of your body the way God wants you to. Let’s all be healthy all year round. Being physical, spiritually, and mentally healthy is not a fad, but it is a lifestyle.

Affirmation: I Will Not Self-Sabatoge Myself

Challenge:  Pray to God about your 2018 Plan, make sure He is involved

Song of the day: Shana Wilson-Bethel

How can one self-sabotage themselves? When one creates behaviors or habits that can stand in the way of life-long goals, they are sabotaging their lives. Creating toxic friendships can cause you to sabotage your life. If you have friends that constantly suck the life out of you and they prevent you from doing anything outside of them, you are sabotaging your own life. I would say that you are a victim of sabotage, but it is a choice we make and only the power of God can remove us from soul ties and toxic situations. Sometimes we enjoy these soul ties because it is something that we are comfortable with. It is like a grown person carrying around a blanket they had from childhood. Eventually you will have to let that go and grow up. Self-sabotage is holding on to old, bad, or toxis things we know we need to let go.

Everyday choices could make or break us. Whether we wake up on time or sleep in. Whether we step out and start a business or stay at our job. It is so important to seek the Lord in everything we do because in His will there is no such thing as sabotage. Only a set up for greater things in life. Faith in God is a solution to self-sabotage. We must realize that God has the best plans and intentions for us. John 16:13 says that, “When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth, for he will not speak on his own authority, but whatever he hears he will speak, and he will declare to you the things that are to come.” Your freedom is in your next choice. God presents to us the choices and we must step out. Whether you hold on to the blanket or throw it away, it is in your next choice.

Affirmation:I Will Accept and Embrace all Past and Present Experiences.

Challenge:  Give God all your guilt, hurt, and shame

Song of the day: Hold on By Rizen

Life is tough and sometimes, well, all the time, we make mistakes. We may choose the wrong spouse. Work at the wrong job. Living in the wrong neighborhood. Had a baby out of wedlock. Picked up a drug habit. Whatever you have done, many of us live in a state of regret. What I am learning is that what we go through in life is building us to become who we are today. What I have been through has made me smarter, wiser, and more secure in who I am. We do not have to define ourselves by our past mistakes.  We define our lives by what God has to say about us. What is God saying about you in spite of your wrong choices?

From Adam ,to David, to Paul, I am sure they felt some sort of guilt for messing up in life. But thanks to God that God extends His grace to us daily. When we confess our sins to God, God hears us, cleanses us, and sets us back on the path. If we are chosen by God then we will respond to his Love and forgiveness. There is no point that we should constantly beat ourselves up. In Romans 8:1 says that, “There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.” If we live in a state of condemnation, then we know that it is from the enemy, not God.

So, walk in the newness of God knowing that it is not the end of the world when we make mistakes. We must constantly press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling in Jesus Christ.

Affirmation: I will know and accept my self-worth

Challenge: What are some things you need to start saying yes to?

Song of the day: I Am A Miracle

Being on this self-worth challenge made me realize how valuable I am. Finding this out is not pride or arrogance, but finally walking in confidence in who I am. Because I am walking more in confidence, the things that I used to allow in my life will no longer take up residence. No more bad relationships. No more bad choices. No more defiling my temple physically, spiritually, and mentally. When you get to a point in your life of finding self-worth, you have a higher standard of living. I realize that I can really do all things in Christ. We may quote this scripture over and over but internalizing and walking it out is something totally different.

It took me a long time to accept that I am worth more than what I thought I was worth. It was the fact that I was boxing myself in, accepting what comes my way that were below me. Allowing others to categorize me or belittle me in society. When we pray to God to show us what He sees about us, you will have a different view of yourself. We are God’s priceless possession and we have a future and an inheritance.

If God has a standard for us, we should uphold ourselves to that standard. If God is trusting us to do more, we should uphold ourselves to that. We are fearfully and wonderfully made in God and we will accept and believe what God is saying to us.

Affirmation: I Will Receive the Forgiveness of God

Challenge: How can you set better boundaries in your life?

Song of the day: Healing Stream / We Wait On You

Why do we hold guilt the way we do? I know I do. If I do something wrong, I am so hard on myself. But it’s great to know that we serve a God that is so forgiving and kind to us. His grace and love is sufficient to carry us through. In 2 Corinthians it says that, “My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness.” Most gladly, therefore, I will rather boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may dwell in me.” In our weak moments, God will sustain and cover us and give us the power to go further in Him.

So, if it is in His word that He will forgive us, then why is it so hard to receive it? When God says your sins are forgiven just like He said to the paralyze man, can we receive it? We fight constantly with principalities and talks of the devil in our ear all the time. We must use the word of God to fight off the enemy and receive the true forgiveness of God. The fact is, He has forgiven you. You simply need to claim His forgiveness and believe His promise. And what a promise it is: For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is His love for those who fear Him; as far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us (Psalm 103:11,12).

So walk in your forgiveness and be free. You will no longer be bound by guilt or shame but you will according to Galatians 5:1, “Stand firm therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and don’t be entangled again with a yoke of bondage.” You are forgiven!

Affirmation: I Will Love Myself Again

Challenge: What is the most loving thing you have done for yourself?

Song of the day: A Heart Like Yours- Waymond Dean

For the past 27 days, I have learned to love myself again. I have learned so much about myself and the accomplishments I’ve made just this month alone. And I love me. I can also say that I love that God made me the way that I am. From my hair, all the way down to my soles, I love myself. I am more aware of my actions and the words that I say about myself.

I was talking to a friend about past relationships that so happen to come back around again. I used to always fall for the same tricks over and over, but because I was coming into the realization of who I was and the value that I have, it was easier for me to say no and really mean it. I said to my friend, once you learn your value, you do not stoop down and fall for the same tricks and be treated any type of way.

I thank God for the willpower. It was only through the love and grace of God that I have finally got to a place of loving me… really loving me. I will admit, the one thing that I am struggling with is making time for myself and enjoying my company. I work so much and never take the time out to treat myself without feeling guilty. So I want my Monday’s Life family to hold me accountable, especially since my birthday is coming up J I will treat and love myself more.

I hope this journey was a blessing to you all and I hope to hear the testimonies to come.
