20th of Iyar
Today May 25, the 20th of Iyar, is the day in biblical history where the glory started to move after the children at Israel rested and set up the tabernacle on their journey outside of Egypt. This happened a year after The Ten Commandments were given.
They resumed their journey when the pillar of cloud rose for the first time from over the tabernacle -the divine sign that would signal the resumption of their travels throughout their encampments and journeys over the next 38 years, until they reached the eastern bank of the Jordan River on the eve of their entry into the Holy Land.
In Exodus 40:36 says that,
“Throughout all their journeys whenever the cloud was taken up from over the tabernacle, the sons of Israel would set out “but if the cloud was not taken up, then they did not set out until the day when it was taken up. For throughout all their journeys, the cloud of the LORD was on the tabernacle by day, and there was fire in it by night, in the sight of all the house of Israel.”
Notice the children of Israel did not move until God moved. This is a lesson for us to be mindful when God is moving or directing, we must be sensitive to His moving. Let’s not limit the movement of God to moving in a church service. God is active all day and everyday throughout our lives. Follow when He is leading you from your job. Follow when he is leading you to a new city. Follow when He is leading you read a certain chapter in the Bible. Follow when is He leading you to pray. Follow when He is leading you to intercede on someone’s behalf.
It’s time to move and to be in sync with the move of God. You never know when it’s time to close down shop and move when God has moved.

People are Aware When You Are Shifting
So much to say about shifts and seasons. I want to bring something to your attention that really blessed me.
Lately I have been challenged in my beliefs from the Holy Spirit. I believe that He is revealing to me the true and living God. He’s been doing it for a while, but my daily worship and how I view God are being challenged. I noticed that a certain time of the year, I go through either changes, or some type of event would happen in my life. In this time, I rather stay to myself or not communicate with anyone about it because I fear that they would not understand. I did not know it was occurring the same time each year until this year. I began to look at my life and noticed the trend. So since I have people in my life who I interact with almost on a daily, people would pick up on the change. But I did not want people to know!
I was embarrassed!
It was embarrassing at times because I never know how I would react in certain situations. I was real edgy, sharped tongue, agitated, frustrated… You name it, I was that! In result, people were affected. It is so good to have people around you that understand and encourage you through your shifting rather than using what you are going through as a conversational piece to others.
When you are going through seasonal shifts, it is good to have those around to help you get through your seasons. There are people who are sensitive to shifts and will pray for you to get through. Have people around that can give advice, lend a helping hand, or someone that will let you vent for as long as you need it. The worse thing you can do is go through seasons without support and prayer. There are times that you may feel you are going through your seasons alone, but God said in Isaiah 41:10.
Fear thou not, for I am with thee; be not dismayed, for I am thy God; I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.
So when you go through your seasons and you see others go through theirs, be sensitive to them. Pray for them. Lend your ear. Understand that we all experience seasons. Let’s pray that we all make it through victoriously!
But thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and manifests through us the sweet aroma of the knowledge of Him in every place.- 2 Corinthians 2:14

Happy Monday! Let’s Dream!
I was listening to a sermon and a question was asked? When was the last time you’d dream? What was the dream that God gave you? The question literally stunned me because I could not think back on the last dream I had from the Lord. It made me question whether not I was still doing my assignment from the Lord or have I veered away from what God has called me to do.
There is so much I want to do in my life and things I want to get started but I want to make sure that I am in the will of God. Scripture says in Proverbs 19:21, “Many plans are in a man’s heart, But the counsel of the LORD will stand.” We can be so zealous and caught up on new ideas and endeavors that sometimes we are not in the will of God. I began to pray one day and my prayer was: God, show me again of what it is you want for me to do. Refresh my mind and allow me to know what I’m doing is apart of your will.
Do not get so caught up on good ideas that you miss God idea’s for your life. God’s will is the best will you can ever follow. Sometimes in the midst of going places and doing things, you have to ask God, am I in your will? Is this what you want for me to do? This requires allowing God to be The Lord over your life. God calls all the shots and directs your footsteps. Pray to allow God to show you His will. Dream and believe again. Even if you cannot see the whole picture, take what God has given you and go with it. Have faith and dream again!

When I left the house this morning, I felt the urge to pray. It was hard for me to pray a certain prayer because I knew that it was a prayer against my will and plans. God gave me a word a while back that in a few months, a change is going to occur. Being antsy and tired of the current situation that I am in, I tried to rush the process and the timing of God. I know from experience, rushing the timing of God is never a good thing. So I laid down my will right in the car. I said to God, “I will wait for you. I do not want my flesh to get in the way of your promises for me”.
When I got to work, the spirit of the Lord hit me while getting coffee. I began to cry, “Lord, calm my raging soul”. My soul is trying to get what it wants and I do not want to receive anything God has for me outside the timing of God. I believe that my soul is not at ease because I have not found my resting place in God. Like a baby who is irritated and fussy and cannot communicate to its parent what is wrong, my soul was in the same state. I realized that I needed more than just a vacation or to sleep more, but I need the love of the Father to cradle me and say it will be OK.
In the book, “The Battlefield of the Mind” by Joyce Meyers says that, “The rest that God offers us is not from physical work, but a rest for souls- a rest that operates as we go about daily life and take care of the responsibilities… If you are truly believing God and trusting Him, we have entered into rest (Heb 4:3)… You can speak His word to your raging soul and tortured mind just as Jesus spoke to the wind and waves and said, “Hush, be still. (Mark 4:39)”.
When your soul becomes uneasy, begin to pray in the spirit and tell your soul to hush and be still. “And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:7). When you have nagging desires and your flesh is trying to rise up and causing you to feel anxious, remember we serve a God who is ABLE TO KEEP you from falling. Stay in the rest and comfort of God for it is your protection and safety net.

Anger can take over a person in an instant. When we act out of anger, we do not think first. We act first. In result can lead to detrimental issues. Proverbs 14:17 says that, “A quick-tempered man acts foolishly, And a man of evil devices is hated.”
The other day, being in a rush, I closed my computer too quickly and the computer shut down completely on its own. In result, I lost a portion of revisions that I was working on. I had never gotten so angry in my life. I was at the church and I could not let anyone see how angry I was. I immediately left and stood at my car. I was slamming things, yelling, about to pull my hair out because I just lost 2 hours worth of work.I could not get in the car to drive because I knew I would speed out of anger. I knew the Holy Spirit was coaching me through the whole thing because as I was driving, there was a sense of ease or calmness that came over me all of a sudden. The whole drive home, the Holy spirit had to coach me through the whole thing. Even though I just lost 2 hours of work, I was going to stay up for hours to catch back up. But the Lord rest assured in me that all was not lost.
When you are angry and emotional, you have to quickly shift to wisdom. Wisdom told me to leave the church quickly. Wisdom told me not to hop in the car and speed off. Wisdom caused peace to go through my mind and body. Wisdom told me that all is not lost. Being emotional without wisdom is mania! It causes you to become crazy and emotionally driven. That is why the enemy fights against us to receive knowledge and wisdom! We need to get wisdom to handle our emotions. Proverbs 14:29 says that, “He who is slow to anger has great understanding, But he who is quick-tempered exalts folly.” God wants to shift us to use his wisdom more in situations and learn how to live in a climate of peace and wisdom.
You have to learn how to resolve anger before it gets out of hand. Ephesians 4:26 says that, “Be angry and do not sin; do not let the sun go down on your anger”. Have you ever gotten so angry that you stopped talking to God? Anger causes you to be estranged from God or causes you to be a stranger to God. See how the word “anger” in is the word “stranger”? It pushes you away from God because you are so caught up in your emotions to a point where you will not allow yourself to hear from Him. Anger distorts your view and judgement of everything.
So the next time you get angry, slow yourself and shift to the wisdom of God. Do not run from God but run to God.

How many of us used to say this every time at the end of the year making our New Year’s resolution? We make out these long list of stuff we want to do and make “vision” boards that do not even line up with the will of God? We often use the scripture of Psalm 37:4, “Delight yourself in the LORD; And He will give you the desires of your heart.” We interpret this scripture meaning that God will give us what WE want. That is not the case. In this scripture it is saying that God will give you THE DESIRES. God will give you the desires He wants you to desire so when you desire something, it is of God and not of you. It is not of self or flesh, but by the spirit. Delight means to make oneself pliable and flexible. So you are making yourself flexible and pliable for the Lord to change your heart’s desires to His. In order for this to happen, our heart must change. That is way God requires us to have a new heart. In Jeremiah 17:9 “The heart is more deceitful than all else and is desperately sick; Who can understand it? In Ezekiel 36:26 says, “Moreover, I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; and I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. There is no way that God can give us the desires of our old wicked heart. Our heart is deceitful and manipulative. Jeremiah 24:7, ‘I will give them a heart to know Me, for I am the LORD; and they will be My people, and I will be their God, for they will return to Me with their whole heart.
In this season, you got to catch what God wants for you and not what you want for yourself. How do we know if what we are desiring are from God? There are three points you want to follow to know if you are walking in the desire of God for your life
In Isaiah 30:21 says that, ‘Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, This is the way; walk in it. You have to be able to decipher between your voice, God’s voice and the enemy voice. Many believers wrestle with this and often times find themselves in various situations. Romans 8:14 says that “For all who are being led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God”. How can you be led? By learning the voice of God. My sheep knows my voice and I know them and they follow me. If you are a son of God, the ability to know His voice is inside of you. Once you allow the spirit to have control over your life, He will lead you in the right direction. Hearing from God takes discipline and you have to commune with God, read your Bible in order to know the voice of God. You have to meditate on His word over and over and you will begin to become familiar with His voice.
- We do not have to force the doors open
Everything flows in His perfect timing. Habakkuk 2:2 “Record the vision and inscribe it on tablets, That the one who reads it may run. “For the vision is yet for the appointed time; It hastens toward the goal and it will not fail. Though it tarries, wait for it; For it will certainly come, it will not delay. 3:11 He has made everything appropriate in its time. He has also set eternity in their heart, yet so that man will not find out the work which God has done from the beginning even to the end. God knows how much we can handle in THIS time. If God showed us everything for our lives, we would not be able to handle it. We would jump right to the end and not appreciate the process in between to get to that point. The process in between is what makes us who we are. That is why God only gives us glimpses of our future because He knows that we cannot handle it. God knows not to give us everything at once because we are not mature enough to handle it. In James 4:3 3 You ask and do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, so that you may spend it on your pleasures. God’s will would not be on your mind, you would be focused on your own will and desires. God will never give you millions until He knows for a fact that you will do what He wants for you to do. If God told us to give a million away, are we able to? We got to walk in maturity. If not, you will end up like to prodigal son. The prodigal son was guaranteed in due time to receive his inheritance, but he wanted all that was promised to him now. So the father did and the son used up all that was promised to him. Why? Because his motives were not pure. His problem was immaturity and ignorance. He did not know who he was and where He was headed. We cry and cry to God for things to happen in our lives, but we are not able to handle the responsibility of receiving the blessing. We want marriage- but not mature enough to handle the responsibilities yet alone take care of ourselves. We want a house- but do not have financial discipline. We want a business- but cannot remain faithful to work for someone else
Phil 4:6-7
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
- Don’t be anxious for anything! Do not be so quick to have things in your life. God wants for us to pray to Him to make sure that it is in His will. The problem is that we do not stay long enough in his presence to hear the full answer and instructions.
- The desire will not be exalted higher than God
In Ezekiel 14 talks about how people allow their desires to become idols in their hearts. They have set up their idols in their heart; they not only have idols, but they are in love with them, are wedded to them, and have laid them so near their hearts, and have given them so great a room in their affections, that there is no parting with them. God will allow desires in your heart to come to pass to show you that you do not need them in the first place. Our desires can be so strong to a point where we exalt them before God and not even know it. In everything we do, we have to make sure that God is leading us rather than us trying to lead God. God has given us the ability and He can take it away too. Desires are created, motivated, and moved by a will. Do not allow others to place their will on your life. Do not allow your own will to create desires in your heart. Once you give God an authentic “Yes”, then His Will will be downloaded in our spirits to create the desires for our heart.
So as you go into the 2017 year, check your heart and make sure you are desiring the desires that God wants for you to desire. If you are going to make a list, pray over it and make sure this is the direction that God wants for you to travel. Do not be like the man who decides to go on a trip but do not have the right directions or GPS to get there. If you continue to lean and depend on God, He will lead you in prosperity and wealth.
